Game of Thrones baddie Iwan Rheon has joined the acting ranks of American Gods season 3.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Welsh star will swap the skin-flaying life for one much more peaceful and mystical.

That's because in the upcoming third season, Rheon is playing a "charming, good-natured leprechaun" named Liam Doyle - a character who's thrown back onto the Lucky Charms path once he's introduced to a "world of gods, luck and magic."

Following his stint on Misfits, Rheon became known to international audiences as the psychopathic bastard son of Roose Bolton, Ramsay, in HBO's fantasy phenomenon.

An eventual Lord of the Dreadfort, Ramsay stunned us all with his sinister actions against Theon Greyjoy, which saw the Iron Islands warrior rendered *memberless*.

American Gods airs on Starz in the US and Amazon Prime in the UK, while Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are now available on DVD and Blu-ray.
