Star Wars: The Mandalorian episode 2 has massive twist involving The Force

Note: There are massive spoilers for The Mandalorian episode 2 below, so look away now if you haven't seen it yet.

The Mandalorian blew the minds of Star Wars fans with its premiere on Tuesday (November 12), and it's only gone and done it again with its second episode!

Brand new streaming service Disney+ debuted the live-action series earlier this week, with the first episode setting The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) off in search of a bounty he could bring back dead or alive.

But when Mando finally got his hands on the bounty, he discovered it was actually a 50-year-old Baby Yoda — which is all we can call it, since Yoda's species has never been named in Star Wars canon.

A second episode dropped on Friday (November 15), which centred around The Mandalorian trying to keep Baby Yoda safe while bartering with a faction of Jawas who'd stolen parts from his ship.

With help from moisture farmer Kuiil (Nick Nolte), Mando made a deal to retrieve an egg from a horrific alien rhino in exchange for the parts for his ship. This turned out to be easier said than done.

The rampaging beast managed to take out all of The Mandalorian's weapons aside from his blade. Just when it looked like the beast would gore Mando, Baby Yoda saved his life.

Baby Yoda showed that he is Force-sensitive by suspending the creature in air long enough for Mando to get underneath and then slice its throat, before Baby Yoda had to release his Force hold.

This episode seemingly proves that Yoda's unnamed species are Force-sensitive in general since fellow species member Yaddle also used it in The Phantom Menace.
