While the new HBO Watchmen TV series is based off the classic comics, it takes a different spin with the events being set decades later.
We have a new cast of characters too, including Regina King's Detective Angela Abar/Sister Night, and it turns out showrunner Damon Lindelof had some unique advice to help her prepare for the role.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, King revealed that the boss told her to avoid the comics and the movie so as to distance her from the events, just like her character in the show.
"He made it clear, while shooting the pilot, that he didn't want me to watch the movie, or read the book, because my character is not in the graphic novel," she said. "And he wanted me to experience the character just like a real person would have.
"You would only know about that through reading about it, or through someone telling you about the history of your country or your city or whatever.
"So we wanted to receive it that way. So I honoured his wishes."

Meanwhile, King has also revealed whether she would return for a second season of Watchmen, saying: "Oh my God, I would be a part of anything that Damon does – because I know that he's going to dive in, honestly, with every fibre of his being.
"I don't know that Damon even has started yet – or where he would enter. We're all seeing where this goes, and how it's received. And we'll go from there.
"But yes, if there is a season two, then I don't care where we're shooting – I would love nothing more than to be a part of it."
Watchmen has a premiere date of Sunday, October 20 at 9/8c on HBO in the US. In the UK, the premiere will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic, and airing from Monday, October 21 at 9pm on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
