The OA fans are getting some help from an unlikely source in their attempt to #SaveTheOA.

Ever since Netflix made the controversial decision to axe Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij's supernatural drama after two seasons, fans have been rallying for the streaming service to revive it.

Their movement even branched off from social media to an actual fan protest outside of Netflix's offices in Los Angeles last week.

Now, the #SaveTheOA brigade are even getting support from Jason Isaacs – who spent two seasons kidnapping and trying to kill The OA as the evil Hap on the Netflix series.

During an appearance on New York Live to promote Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Isaacs encouraged the fans to keep up their protests.

"We love you. We appreciate you. We loved making this show," he assured them. "I can't tell you how grateful I am that I got to be part of it for two years.

"It's rare that something comes along after 30-odd years. I felt completely reinvigorated and fell in love with storytelling again.

"It touched people in very profound ways. We see you, we feel you, we're moved by you."

He then urged fans: "Don't give up! If you love it, it's formed a community. These people have each other now!”

Brit Marling also recently showed support for the fan protests, telling supporters that the #SaveTheOA campaign had helped ease the emotional toll of the show's cancellation.

"Your words and images move us deeply," she wrote to her fans. "Not because the show must continue, but because for some people its unexpected cancellation begs larger questions about the role of storytelling and its fate inside late capitalism's push toward consolidation and economies of scale."
