Just over a year has passed since Queer Eye first arrived on our screens and we're already looking ahead to season five. Can you believe?!

After 33 episodes of self-love and self-care, the Fab Five will soon be back with a whole new line-up of heroes in need of some change in their lives.

Grab some tissues and join us here at Digital Spy as we reveal everything you need to know about season five of Queer Eye.

Queer Eye season 5 Netflix release date: When will it air?

Netflix has confirmed that Queer Eye season five will arrive some time in 2020, but it's still unclear when that will be exactly. However, what we do know is that every season released after the first one has dropped in spring or summer, and given that filming for season five started in June 2019, we expect new episodes to arrive sooner rather than later next year.

In the meantime, fans can also expect a four-episode mini-series set in Japan to arrive by the end of 2019. Titled Queer Eye: We're in Japan!, this Tokyo-based excursion includes what might be Bobby Berk's "favourite episode", so expect the sake and tears to flow some time later this year on Netflix.

Queer Eye season 5 trailer: When will it land?

Production on Queer Eye season five hasn't been completed just yet, so don't expect a trailer to appear until early 2020 at the very earliest. In the meantime, check out the season four trailer above for a taste of what the show's about and fall in love with the Fab Five if you haven't already.

After filming in Atlanta and Kansas City for the first four instalments, season five will head on over to Philadelphia in search of new heroes.

Production hasn't finished yet on the upcoming episodes, but Antoni Porowski has already found a coffee shop he loves in the city.

Speaking to Food & Wine magazine, the food expert/avocado lover gushed over La Colombe in Philly's Fishtown neighbourhood: "There's a very diverse food space, there's a lot of multiculturalism in Philly, which is always really exciting to me because it just gives me more options."

Being Canadian himself, Porowski added: "The immigrant story is obviously very important to me, being one myself, but also appreciating foods from all these different countries. And the opportunity to tell those stories, I immediately jump on [it]."

Queer Eye season 5: How can I nominate someone?

Back in April, a Reddit post revealed to the world that Queer Eye was searching for new heroes to make over in Philly. Unfortunately, season five is now midway through production, so it looks like the deadline might have passed already for new nominations.

However, it's worth noting that the Queer Eye team like to post casting flyers in the city of their choice just a few months before filming, so keep an eye out for these in the future if you're living in a US metropolis. If you're lucky, the Fab Five might be coming your way for an all-but-guaranteed sixth season.

Queer Eye seasons 1-4 are now available on Netflix.
