Smallville star Sam Witwer (who played Davis Bloome) has nabbed the role of school teacher Mr Chipping in Riverdale's forthcoming season 4.
Fans will also know him from his days as Supergirl's villainous Ben Lockwood (aka Agent Liberty), who was eventually put behind bars on the show after his defeat to the titular superheroine.
But in Riverdale, will Witwer get to stretch his baddie muscles?

Well, according to The CW's official description (via TV Line), Mr Chipping is "handsome, bookish and cool" and "teaches creative writing at a prestigious prep school" that's near Riverdale.
"He recruits Jughead for his seminar and while he's eminently inspiring to his students, there's a darkness hidden far beneath the surface."

For any Riverdale enthusiasts out there, this hidden "darkness" won't be that surprising, but it'll certainly be interesting to see what Witwer can do with this meaty role.
Meanwhile, we were given an official first-look at the Riverdale spin-off Katy Keene back in May, which stars former Pretty Little Liars' actor Lucy Hale.
Sprung from the Archie Comics universe just like Riverdale, there's bound to be plenty of connective tissue throughout the series, with the teaser itself showing Katy crossing paths with Josie from Josie and the Pussycats.
Riverdale airs on The CW in the US and Netflix in the UK.
