The first trailer for Camila Mendes' new musical rom-com Música has arrived.

The Riverdale actress stars in the film opposite her real-life partner Rudy Mancuso — who also wrote the script and directed — as well as Stranger Things star Francesca Reale and Curb Your Enthusiasm's JB Smoove.

Música centres on Mancuso's character, also named Rudy, who is "plagued by the music in his head" while trying to balance love, family and his Brazilian culture.

The trailer sees Rudy getting distracted by everything from the sweep of a brush on the floor to the sound of coffee being poured into a mug, which he can't help but turn into a rhythm in his head.

Although it looks like Rudy's ex-girlfriend Haley (Reale) wants to get back together, the aspiring musician is in two minds when he strikes up an unexpected connection with Isabella (Mendes).

Upon the Prime Video film's announcement in 2022, Mancuso said: "I'm beyond excited to have the wildly gifted mind of Camila join this special journey of Música, where we're telling an authentic Brazilian-American story through the eyes of a synesthete."

Música isn’t the only Prime Video project Mendes has been involved in this year, as she she recently starred in romantic-comedy Upgraded opposite Shadow and Bone's Archie Renaux.

The film, now available to watch on Prime Video, sees Mendes in the role of intern Ana, who encounters Will (Renaux) while on a work trip in London.

However, he mistakes Ana for her art director boss Claire (Spider-Man's Marisa Tomei) and Ana gets carried away with the lie.

Música premieres on Prime Video on April 4.
