When Marvel's Agents of SHIELD rolls back around for its seventh and final season next year, we now know that a "tiny little MCU nod" will be planted amongst the action.
What this will actually consist of is anyone's guess at the moment, but put it this way, we probably shouldn't expect the Sorcerer Supreme to appear in some sort of psychedelic vision.
Unless of course, Benedict Cumberbatch would be up for that?

The news of this planned "nod" comes via TV Line, who sat down with co-showrunner Jed Whedon to talk about the upcoming final season.
He teased: "There will be one tiny little MCU nod," before reiterating "Just a nod! Just a nod."

Back in May, SHIELD actress Ming-Na Wen suggested that the Marvel spin-off show had actually "departed" the MCU, and discussed how every event in the recent episodes was "happening pre-Snap".

Meanwhile, Whedon also told last month's San Diego Comic-Con crowd that SHIELD characters could possibly reappear in the MCU post-season 7.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD airs on ABC in the US and E4 in the UK, and will return for season 7 in 2020.
