With a number of Game of Thrones stars attending this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, the season 8 backlash was inevitably brought up during the show's panel.
But instead of breathing fire on the whole audience, Varys (aka the Master of Whisperers) actor Conleth Hill shared a short-but-sweet analysis of the whole situation.

Responding to Digital Spy and others with a touch of class, Hill noted: "We are very grateful for your support, this is the reality not the media-led hate."
The crowd quickly began to cheer, which made us consider: was season 8 really that bad? Not at all – there was something in it for everyone, even if Cersei Lannister didn't get her elephants.
Meanwhile, Jaime Lannister actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau had a different approach to Hill when asked about the backlash and *that* fan petition.
