Pretty Little Liars may have ended back in 2017, but the world carried on with the spin-off Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, which just wrapped up its first season last night (May 22) in the United States.

The first run of episodes have established the new show as its own thing, but with all that world-building out of the way, are they going to start linking it to its predecessor some more?

"Oh, I think so!" showrunner I Marlene King told Entertainment Weekly.

"The original PLLs have been so supportive of this show, not just the ladies but the men. Tyler [Blackburn]'s been so supportive and Ian [Harding] and hopefully we'll find a way to bring them in.

"Because they can come and visit our world and it will still feel like our world. Because it is the same universe."

Looking more generally at season two, King says that she would like to really test the "unconditional friendship" of our characters, and specifically learn more about Alison and Nolan.

Luke will also be a character we see more of in the second run, with King stating that the topic of struggling with your sexuality in small-town America is something she would definitely like to explore more of.

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists airs on Freeform in the US. A UK broadcaster has not been announced at this time.
