In last night's (April 10) trip to Beacon Heights, fans were stunned when Alison admitted that her move from Rosewood hadn't given her and Emily's relationship the chance to improve. In fact, it had pretty much done the opposite, as Alison took the final steps to end their marriage for good.
After signing the divorce papers that Emily had sent over – the marriage is "irrevocably broken", apparently – Alison then removed her wedding ring. Emison, we hardly knew ye.

Fans were positively furious over Alison and Emily's break-up, but Sasha Pieterse Sheaffer (Alison DiLaurentis) has since defended The Perfectionists' twist on Twitter.
Responding to disgruntled Emison fans, Sasha wrote: "I trust [showrunner I Marlene King] and her vision. Alison will always love Emily and she will always love and be the best mom she can be to their girls.
"Emily is struggling with Alison's past & Alison is trying to be a better person to fix their relationship." She added: "They'll always be connected and Ali will always be trying."
Suggesting that all hope is not lost, Sasha's comments echo her recent thoughts on Alison and Emily's future, where she insisted that the two "will always love each other".
"They have these two beautiful babies together. It's complicated. Life is complicated, and I think piecing themselves and each other and their world back together since A happened is difficult," she explained to TVGuide last month.
"I think both Emily and Alison need time to process their life and I think that's what it is."
