Adrianne Palicki has expressed her desire to return to Marvel's Agents of SHIELD following her exit a few years ago.

The actress played Barbara 'Bobbi' Morse on the show between 2014 and 2016, leaving in season 3 with Lance Hunter as they cut ties with SHIELD to protect the team.

However, Palicki – who is currently starring in The Orville – has admitted she would jump at the chance to come back if asked.

"Listen, if they ask me to come back, I would absolutely come back," she told TVLine. "I was like, 'Nick [Blood] came back [for a season 5 episode] — what the hell, guys?'"

Recalling being part of the series, the actress added: "It's crazy. It's crazy. That was the hardest show to do any interview for, because you genuinely could not say a thing. But you know, [The Orville] is mildly similar!"

Palicki also opened up about the planned-then-axed spin-off Marvel's Most Wanted, explaining: "Oh, I saw the pilot. It was actually really, really good. It was a little darker, grittier..."

She added: "We were mercenaries, yeah. It's kind of an extension of what we were dealing with before, where we, like, ended up trying to get married again and all hell breaks loose because people are after us.

"Ultimately it's us just kind of fighting for our lives."

Oh, what could have been.

Marvel's Agents of Shield season 6 begins in summer 2019, while The Orville season 2 is currently airing on FOX in the US, and starts on FOX in the UK on Thursday, January 10.
