Parks and Recreation *literally* could get a revival in the future.

That's what Amy Poehler – who played lead character Leslie Knope – said recently when asked about the chances of the sitcom returning by Variety.

But it's not quite as simple as that. The first obstacle is waiting for creator Michael Schur, as much of his time is taken by acclaimed comedy The Good Place.

"I am technically available," Poehler said. "I have like six of Leslie's blazers in my closet, so any time.

"Our king is busy doing his highly successful show The Good Place. We really can't jump without Mike. So when Mike is good and ready, I'm sure we'll show up like good soldiers."

The Good Place was recently renewed for a fourth season – although it remains to be seen how long the show will go on for. As Schur discussed earlier this month, he doesn't see the show lasting as long as Friends.

"Obviously because of that DNA, where status quos get blown up so frequently, this is not a show that is destined to be on for nine years," he said.

"It's not a 200-episode, Friends kind of a deal. It's not a hangout show. So yeah, we've given it a lot of thought, and we have a certain plan, which I think you'll get the sense of in the fairly near future."

Parks and Recreation aired for seven seasons between 2009 and 2015.
