After six weeks on air, which have seen accusations of bullying, criticism over classism and people departing the show, The Island with Bear Grylls came to an end tonight (April 30).
This series' theme was 'rich vs poor', featuring contestants who either earned above £100,000 a year or below the national average wage. Early on, the campmates split into two groups, each thinking they could do better than the other team.
Tonight's finale saw the two camps reunite, and under the command of Shereen, make another attempt to take a raft to a nearby (much smaller) island to see what they could find.
And what did they discover? Pineapples!
Viewers, who just love to point out the show's many 'coincidences' on Twitter, had a field day with their discovery:
Unfortunately for contestant Ben, who came into his own on the voyage to the second island, he injured his eye with a splinter and had to leave just before the end, which was genuinely sad:
What to Read Next
One fake marriage later, things wrapped up with Bear visiting the island and giving everybody a 'well done' and... that was kind of it. Viewers were kind of underwhelmed, but campmate Sammy's thoughts summed up the entirety of class divisions better than anyone has ever done:
"I just think we're all the same. Like whether we're on a council estate or whether they're in gated houses, I think all we want is to get home and have a lasagne."
