Well, that's it – Channel 4's latest series of Married at First Sight is over, and we finally know whether the couples decided to stay together or get a divorce.

After meeting on their wedding day, going on honeymoon and living together as man and wife – all of which was followed over three episodes of the documentary series – the beginning of the final episode tonight (March 8) had viewers doubting the future of both marriages.

With many viewers thinking Stephanie was more invested in her relationship with Ben, and others thinking Harriet wasn't giving her match with Richard a fair chance, it didn't take long for the viewers' social media debate to kick off:

When Ben decided to take off for a two-day holiday to Portugal without telling Steph, things weren't looking great for the couple:

And, after a rocky start and a visit to the relationship therapist, dog person Richard and cat person Harriet looked to finally be getting along – with viewers quick to point out what a lovely guy Richard seems to be:

So then came the big decision – did the couples decide to stay together at the end of the experiment, or get a divorce and never see each other again?

What to Read Next

Well, first up to reveal their decision were Richard and Harriet – who were the strongest match on paper when it came down to the science of it all – and the couple ultimately revealed that they'd decided to get a divorce.

Next up were Stephanie and Benjamin, who ended their eight-week experiment by revealing that they'd decided to stay married.

The show also gave us a two-month update, which revealed that while Richard and Harriet are both back on the dating scene and remain good friends, Ben and Steph were still happily together and feeling stronger than ever, having said 'I love you' to each other too, even if they're living apart at the moment.

So it looks like all's well that ends well. For now, at least.

Married at First Sight airs on Channel 4.
