Paul Hollywood has told The Great British Bake Off fans to "stop whinging" about his handshakes.

Last night's (September 26) Pudding Week saw Paul dish out THREE handshakes in one round as Steven, Yan and Stacey all impressed him enough with their steamed school puddings.

Yan's excited reaction was delightful, but some fans complained that handshakes aren't rare anymore. "Paul's giving out handshakes so often I reckon I could present a Morrison's iced bun from the reduced section & I'd get a handshake," joked one fan.

Paul is having none of it though and has taken to both Twitter and Instagram to hit back at those moaning with basically the same message, so we've mashed them up.

"If a baker deserves a handshake, that's exactly what they'll get! The standard this year is FAR better than we've ever had. So stop whinging," he posted with an image of one of the incriminating handshakes.

So there.

And if Paul hands out even more handshakes in the next episode, it's worth noting that it's not him trolling these handshake critics as the show is pre-recorded.

Last night's emotional Bake Off outing saw Sophie named Star Baker for the first time, while James had to leave the tent. At least Steven got taken down a peg or two after his Showstopper failure.
