You meet all sorts of folk on the Tube: people who don't realise they're singing out loud, people who don't care about the alcohol ban, and people who offer you their seat but then look at you like you set their house on fire.

But have you ever bumped into not just a former flame, but a former flame that you met 25 years ago on TV?

That's what happened to ITV Wales presenter Howard Griffiths, who randomly chanced upon Brigette, a woman whom he chose on Blind Date a quarter of a century ago.

Howard filmed the moment on his phone and proceeded to share it on Twitter (well, he replied to a Transport for London tweet about hate crime with the video, but hey ho), and it's restored our faith in humanity just a little bit.

In the adorable little clip, Howard asks Brigette, "What's your name and where'd you come from?", before turning the charm on with a little bit of Italian.

Writing on his Twitter, Howard said that he was still shocked this morning and it was an incredibly emotional reunion.

He also shared some photos from his appearance on the show, including his little question card which states that his impressive fact is being able to pronounce llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (not an easy thing to do).

Blind Date currently airs on Channel 5 with Paul O'Grady taking over as host from his late friend Cilla Black. The current series has made history by featuring LGBT+ contestants for the first time ever.
