Blind Date was back on Channel 5 again tonight (July 1) in the hopes of matching more singletons and catching up with those who were coupled up last week.

Back playing matchmaker was new host Paul O'Grady – who's still a hit with viewers, but we don't need to tell you that – and after demonstrating the solid Irish dancing skills he has leftover from his school days, the matchmaking could begin.

The show kicked off with ladies Whitney, Katarina and Audrey as they all hoped for a date with Arnold from Manchester.

And after marriage talk and chat up lines in a lorra lorra languages, Arnold ultimately chose girl number one, sending him off on a date with Whitney – with mixed results:

Last week's match Owen and Rachel may have just proven to be the reboot show's first success story, and viewers hearts were melting:

If only all dates could go that well, eh?

Meanwhile, Gemma only went and bagged the best date of the series so far – a trip to Santorini – so it worked out:

And if Owen and Rachel can find romance while putting up a tent in a field, we're expecting a couple sent to a romantic Greek island to really connect. No pressure or anything.
