The first trailer for the new Blind Date promises that the reboot will recapture the magic of Cilla Black's classic dating show.
Channel 5 makes it clear in the advert below that Blind Date is aiming to give us the charm, cheekiness and chat-up lines we're all so familiar with, rather than update the format for the Instagram age:
In addition to the trailer, we also have our first look at new host Paul O'Grady on the Blind Date set, where he'll be taking over as presenter from his late friend Cilla.
Back in April, O'Grady admitted that he'd accepted the presenting gig mainly as a way to stop reality stars from ruining his pal Cilla's most beloved TV series.
"We're going to take Blind Date back to its roots. A gentle, funny show," he explained. "I told Channel 5 I don't want any of the TOWIE lot or contestants that have been on telly before, there's too much of that on TV now and I'm not interested."
O'Grady will also be joined by Melanie Sykes as the show's newest 'Our Graham'. You might remember Mel from I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and Let's Do Lunch with Gino D'Acampo (aside from the likes of Today with Des and Mel and The Big Breakfast), so there's apparently not a blanket ban on reality stars, then.
