The Great British Bake Off hopeful Flora Shedden has just missed out on the show's final after being sent home by judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood in tonight's episode.
The 19-year-old from Perthshire became the ninth baker to leave the tent after Chocolate Week - even having come first in the chocolate soufflé technical challenge.
But her signature chocolate tart failed to impress the judges, as Mary noted the lack of shine on her ganache and Paul spotted that her passion fruit base had split and complained: "If you're going to do a macaron, do it properly - it's not good, it's overbaked and dry as a bone."
For her chocolate centrepiece showstopper, Flora fashioned an elaborate carousel complete with white chocolate horses - but Paul dubbed it "a bit wonky" and Mary again complained about the lack of glossy shine.
What's more, the judges complained that they could taste the raising agent in Flora's sponge and suggested that her puffed rice was crumbly and bitter, with Mary saying: "It looks fun, but it doesn't taste as good as it looks."
Elsewhere in the episode, Nadiya Hussain ended up in tears after coming bottom in the technical challenge but turned things around enough to end up winning Star Baker for the third time.
