Love Is Blind spoilers follow for the season 8 finale.
Love Is Blind's Sara Carton explained why she said no to Ben Mezzenga at the altar during the last episode of season 8.
Speaking to Us Magazine, Sara explained that there were multiple things about Ben that gave her pause — including a lot of posts about him on social media — but a lot of it was down to his inability to have deep conversations with her.
She said that: "Ultimately, throughout our relationship and continuing to talk about the values and having those hard conversations, I felt like we never progressed.

"I was constantly asking and talking to him about these values way more than I ever would. Like, they're important to me, but I wasn't asking [about these topics] just to ask him — I wasn't getting anything in return."

"Every time he talked to me, he told me how much he loved me," she continued. "And so it's like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm being so harsh.' But it just felt off. I knew something was off... I [couldn't] say yes. It just wouldn't sit right."
When she told Ben at the altar that she didn't want to marry him, he responded by asking her if she wanted to carry on as an unmarried couple.

She told People that: "When he asked that, I wasn't shocked he wanted to do that or be together still after, but I was shocked he asked that at the altar, knowing the circumstance of we are here to say yes or no.
"And also just with the whole entire concept of you walk away forever, I was like, that's disrespectful, in a way, of what we signed up for and the whole entire point of why we're here."
"Also, me saying no to a marriage, why would I continue dating someone?" she continued. "If you're going to say no to that, why even continue the relationship?"
Love Is Blind is available to stream on Netflix.
