The Great British Bake Off host Noel Fielding had a hilarious accident in the tent as he played some sport.
The Channel 4 show returned on Tuesday (October 15) as the remaining nine bakers participated in Caramel Week, with judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith presiding over three rounds.
During the Technical Challenge, a playful Noel – who hosts the show alongside Alison Hammond – spoke with Nelly and Andy as they progressed with their bakes, but the exchange soon turned into a calamity.

After successfully tossing some dough in Andy’s hat, Noel offered to up the ante by suggesting he hit the dough with a rolling pin after Andy threw the dough back. This ended in disaster, however, with the presenter smashing Nelly’s mixing bowl – which was full of caramel – in the process.
“You didn’t need that, did you?” Noel asked as he viewed the shattered mess on the floor, with Nelly confirming that she did indeed need the bowl. A worried Noel then asked: “Oh my God - have you got time to make some more?”, with Nelly allaying his fears.

She did, however, joke that Noel would face punishment should she be eliminated later in the episode, quipping that the presenter would have to “drive her home in a pushcar” as punishment.
The presenter then had the ignominy of hoovering up the mess in front of the whole tent, with the other bakers looking on in amusement. The incident was also referenced during the Showstopper Challenge, and Nelly urged Noel to “stay away” from her station.

The incident was commented upon by fans of the show on social media, with one writing on X/Twitter: “I think Nelly should just have her own show, not just cooking, anything really. Love her.”
“Nelly is the best ever contestant. The gift that keeps on giving!” added a second viewer, with a third writing: “Noel smashing Nelly's caramel and then hoovering it up is just top tier Bake Off that Mel and Sue would be proud of #GBBO”
The Great British Bake Off and its spin-off Bake Off: An Extra Slice both air on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
