Selling Sunset is back with a whole new season – and even more drama – and the focus is on cast member Chelsea Lazkani and her husband.

It had been previously reported back in March that the real-estate agent had filed for divorce from her husband Jeff Lazkani (according to a report in People).

According to the publication, documents cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the pair ending the marriage.

Chelsea and Jeff met on a dating app in 2015 and got married two years later. Chelsea has previously spoken about how it was her husband who first introduced her to Jason Oppenheim, the man who would ultimately become her boss when she joined The O Group and the hit Netflix show.

Neither Chelsea nor Jeff has shared very much publicly about the breakdown of their relationship, although it became a topic of discussion among the cast during the new episodes of the Hollywood-set reality show.

Fellow cast member Bre Tiesi ended up being the one to deliver some accusations to Chelsea about her husband, after a friend (newcomer Amanda Lynn) claimed to her that someone she knew had spotted Jeff out with another woman.

It was a second-hand story, but it was a rumour that devastated Chelsea. We saw her breaking down in tears during that initial conversation with Bre, with Chelsea also revealing at that point that she had been feeling "a disconnect" in her relationship.

"We just know when there is something wrong," she said.

But Chelsea also made it clear that she wasn't going to make any rash decisions about her relationship, and she carried on going to work and filming scenes with the rest of the cast without talking too much about what may have been going on privately.

There was, however, a raw scene which saw Chelsea spending some time with her closest friends Chrishell Stause and Emma Hernan. Chelsea told them that she hadn't spoken to "him", but had been "processing" what was going on.

"I'm keeping it together for you guys," Chelsea said. "I'll be honest, I've been a mess."

Chrishell and Emma were there for Chelsea with emotional support, and the conversation then turned to fellow cast member Bre and the way in which the rumour about Chelsea's husband had been delivered on-camera while filming for the show.

Bre maintained that she had no idea what "tea" her friend had wanted to share with her, while Chelsea and Emma questioned that.

The drama that continued to unfold throughout season eight of Selling Sunset was largely surrounding the fallout of this, with Bre and Emma having a dramatic showdown at a dog funeral and Chrishell trying to hear all sides to build some bridges.

Jeff Lazkani has not publicly addressed the rumour discussed on the show or the divorce reports directly, and his Instagram account is set to private.

By the end of the new season of Selling Sunset, Chelsea had removed her wedding ring and was discussing the possibility of a 'new beginning' buying a new home.

"I think this needs to come off," Chelsea told the camera in a confessional, while removing the jewellery. And then the credits for season eight of Selling Sunset rolled...

Selling Sunset is available on Netflix.
