Gogglebox spoilers follow.

Friday's (April 5) episode of Gogglebox saw the Malone family hilariously taste test cakes to check for any "wooden ones."

As the cast watched expert bakers trying to deceive them on Netflix's goofy baking series Is It Cake?, the Manchester-based family decided to check their own selection of cakes.

"Pretty sure all of them are cakes unless you started putting wooden ones down," said Tom, as his wife Julie and son Shaun started tasting the bakes on their table.

"Let me just have a check," said Shaun, to which Tom replied: "You just checked one!"

"Yeah that one was cake, I'm just checking this one," Shaun added, as he continued to take bites out of the cakes, before confirming: "That one's cake as well."

The show's viewers were quick to share their reactions to the cake testing on X (formerly Twitter). "Malones just checking their cakes and not wooden ones," one person wrote, alongside a group of laughing emojis.

"Watching the Malones is like watching Bake Off, I'm always hankering for cake or biscuits when they've been on," another added, while a third viewer said: "Yah, the Malones are finally eating their cakes."

As Is It Cake? continued, the contestants were tasked with designing an edible object of their choice to try and fool the judges.

"I could spot cake a mile off," said Izzi Warner, with her sister Ellie adding: "I've got a cake-dar."

Tonight's instalment of Gogglebox also saw the professional TV watchers react to the latest episode of Gladiators, This Morning, Casualty and Noel Fielding's new comedy-adventure series The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin.

Gogglebox airs and streams on Friday nights at 9pm on Channel 4.
