Taskmaster spoilers follow.

Taskmaster star Sue Perkins had a hilarious blunder on the show tonight, with the presenter breaking wind during a challenge.

The Channel 4 show continued tonight (November 2), with the five contestants - Sue, Julian Clary, Lucy Beaumont, Susan Wokoma and Sam Campbell - participating in a range of trials as the competition hots up.

One such task consisted of two stages, with the main component requiring the celebrities to balance as many golf tees as they could on a shelf. As always, there was a catch, with the previous clip determining how easy (or hard) this challenge would prove.

In the first stage, the contestants were faced with six switches (including one with an ominous ‘DON’T’ warning), each of which had a different label. The words included ‘Name’, ‘Leaves’ and ‘Vibration’, and it had dramatic consequences for the main portion.

As the celebrities attempted to balance the tees, obstacles were thrown in their way if they had previously pressed the switches, with leaves raining down on them in addition to flashing lights, wind and a vibrating platform.

This proved too much for Sue, who hilariously remarked during the task: “I’ve just farted! Don’t make me fart in the darkness listening to my own name.” The presenter was in stitches throughout, with host Greg Davies quipping that it was the “best thing” ever said on the show.

The ‘Don’t’ switch proved telling as well, with the button acting as an automatic disqualifier for anybody who used it. Naturally, the urge to press overwhelmed many of the contestants, with Lucy the only member who exercised restraint.

Elsewhere in the episode, the group were tasked with pieing an inflatable named Wayne, with a plethora of secondary rules to keep them thinking. The episode was eventually won by Lucy, who prevailed in a tie-break over Sam.

Taskmaster series 16 airs and streams on Thursday nights at 9pm on Channel 4, where you can also stream previous series.
