Survivor UK viewers have given their verdict on the rebooted BBC series, which premiered last night (Saturday, October 28).

Fans of the show, which sees 18 contestants travel to a tropical island where they split into two tribes and compete for a £100,000 prize, took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the first episode.

One viewer tweeted: "It’s like someone from production at @survivoruk watched old school #Survivor & just added a few choice tweaks to make the viewing experience better, rather than completely upending everything & changing the entire game. And that has made it superb so far."

They added: "I love the freshness and simplicity of #SurvivorUK No hidden idols, twists, advantages, journeys, Jeffrey. Just pure #Survivor AWESOME."

"A good start & am pleasantly surprised by Joel Dommett so far… little to no talk of strategy yet though," added another viewer.

"Watching #SurvivorUK on the #BBC for the first time in 20 years. So excited for the show and the 18 competitors. The fire challenge on a mega scale was close. That amount of food for La Nena will be a big advantage over Caletón #Survivor love this show come on!," penned one fan.

Meanwhile, episode 2, which premieres tonight (Sunday, October 29) at 8pm on BBC One, was made available in iPlayer in advance, and many fans have praised it and described it as better than the first episode.

"The 2nd episode is better than the premiere! Strategic talk and alliances forming I’m happy! #SurvivorUK", wrote a fan.

"Not gonna tweet spoilers for ep 2 but it was so much better than the premiere. Make sure you watch tomorrow night," wrote another.

"Early #SurvivorUK impressions. First episode perfectly standard, but its slow pace probably a needed introduction for new viewers. Episode 2 felt much stronger, especially in highlighting tensions and potential alliances," one fan said.

Survivor can be viewed on BBC One and iPlayer.
