Queer Eye's Tan France has opened up about his fears that the show's Fab Five, which includes him, Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown and Bobby Berk could soon be replaced.

In an interview with Insider, France explained that he fears that the Fab Five might appear out of touch as they approach their "middle aged period".

"We're all knocking on a bit," France said, referring to the cast getting older.

"I don't know how much people will care about our opinion on fashion and hair and whatever when we go into the middle-aged period of our life. I'm sure that they'll want somebody younger and hipper to advise them," he added.

Queer Eye is currently one of the longest running shows on Netflix, and the Fab Five have developed a massive following over the years. It is also hugely popular, so much so that it has inspired a German spin-off on the platform.

"I think they've done such a beautiful job. I love that they have given us an even greater representation of the queer community. We have the luxury on Queer Eye of having access to so many queer people here in the US. And we have more episodes and more seasons. With the German version, they've given us even more queer representation, and I think it's beautiful. I'm really impressed by them. I think they're so sweet," he said.

Tan also admitted that it was "really weird" watching the German version as it's so similar to the main show, stating: "I didn't know what to expect. I thought they would switch it up a little bit but even the way they read off the card made me giggle, thinking: 'The way you guys are doing it is so like us.' Which I think is lovely. I loved it."

Queer Eye airs on Netflix.
