As Davina announced that Jack was the winner, he took off his infamous eviction cap and smiled a coy smile.

But there was no time to relax. First runner up, Claire, only had thirty seconds to say her goodbye and make the short walk to her friends and family.

Only moments later, Jack had the surprise of his life waiting at the door of the house. His wife Jane came to greet him instead of Davina, and they reunited with an emotional embrace.

As they walked across the bridge, through the torrents of rain to cheering fans, fireworks exploded overhead. A hero’s welcome.

Davina then introduced the highlights of his week in the Big Brother house saying: “Let’s take a look at why these people love you . . . “ And they do!
