Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott are officially back at work for an all-new BBC One telly series based on the latest novel from Robert Galbraith (aka the pen name of JK Rowling).
What to Read Next
The Beeb has been developing a small-screen version of Rowling's most-recent detective novel Lethal White for most of the year, but now it's official that a four-part series is coming to BBC One very soon.
As mentioned, Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger have already signed up to reprise their roles as crack London investigators Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott for their most challenging case yet.
Here's how BBC One describes the new series: "When Billy, a troubled young man, comes to private eye Cormoran Strike's office to ask for his help investigating a crime he thinks he witnessed as a child, Strike is left deeply unsettled. While Billy is obviously mentally distressed and cannot remember many concrete details, there is something sincere about him and his story.
"Strike and Robin set off on a twisting trail that leads them through the backstreets of London, into a secretive inner sanctum within Parliament and to a beautiful but sinister manor house deep in the countryside."
It's definitely a good thing that the BBC picked up more of Strike, since fans were majorly ticked off by plot strands left lingering by the finale of previous series Career of Evil last spring.
"We are delighted to announce that the Strike series will return to BBC One with Lethal White. JK Rowling, once more in the guise of Robert Galbraith, has delivered another brilliant, knotty and original crime story," BBC Drama controller Piers Wenger said today (October 2).
"We are honoured to be working with Jo and once more with Holliday and Tom as Robin and Strike, to bring this hit series back to BBC One."
Strike will be returning soon to BBC One.
