Victoria finally returned to our screens tonight (August 27) and the nation rejoiced at the sight of Jenna Coleman's gorgeous gowns and Tom Hughes's epic moustache.

This evening's series two premiere saw Victoria and Albert battling each other over Albert's reluctance to tell Victoria the full details of the ongoing war in Afghanistan, while Victoria also came to terms with becoming a mother for the first time.

There was a lot of discussion on Twitter about the return of the ITV period drama, with people falling head over heels in love with Coleman all over again:
