Eve Myles' upcoming BBC thriller, The Guest, is only days away from its debut and the lead star hints at an unpredictable watch.

The series, which sees Myles star as wealthy business owner Fran, has been dubbed "thrilling and dynamic" by the actor, who co-stars with Black Doves' Gabrielle Creevy.

The BBC has described the series as a "addictive, fast-paced, twisty thriller that centres on the toxic and beguiling relationship between successful, charismatic business owner, Fran, and her sparky but down-on-her-luck cleaner, Ria (Creevy)".

Their intense friendship soon spirals out of control leading to the emergence of dark secrets, dangerous plots and murder.

During an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, The Crow Girl actor recalled her excitement and surprise at reading the script for the first time.

"I was just about to take my two daughters to see Taylor Swift, then this script came through and… all I could think about was… 'who are these two women? What's going on here?'

Myles went on to share that she rushed to read the first three episodes later that same night.

"It's one of those things where I was going, 'Oh, you tricked me there. You've taken my hand here, and now you've let me go, and now you've taken my hand here and let me go.' And that is the thrilling and the dynamic kind of thriller that [the writer] Matthew Barry has set up here. It hooked me straight away. Sorry if that's a cliche, but it really did.

"I just wanted to know more and more and more, and I couldn't figure them out."

Creevy also expressed the same sentiments when she told Digital Spy:

"It's always good when you read a script [and] you want to keep turning the pages and [The Guest] was one of those.

"'I didn't think it was going where it goes' and that's what's so good with Matthew's writing."

Myles went on to speak about the chemistry she and Creevy had on set when building Ria and Fran's relationship.

"The beauty of Gaby, is that there is an openness and there is a safe space on that floor every single day, for every single scene, where we were able to do what we wanted instinctively."

She went on to explain: "Gab and I shared our vulnerabilities on that set. Gab and I shared our strengths and our weaknesses and we helped each other and we worked through it. Like Ria and Fran do."

Myles describes her connection with Creevy on set as an "intense, intoxicating, mesmeric, tunnelled relationship".

"It was as if somebody put this massive bubble… over her and I… and it worked. It just worked.

"It was like a chemistry set that came together and blew up. It was great."

The Guest will premiere on BBC One at 9pm on Monday, 1 September. Coldwater is coming to ITV this autumn, but does not have a release date yet.
