Ncuti Gatwa is set to reunite with Sex Education co-star Edward Bluemel in a new "high-stakes" drama on the West End.

The two, who played Eric Effiong and Sean Wiley in the Netflix series, will star together in Born With Teeth, a "thrilling imagining" of the relationship between William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe.

Taking place in 1591, the play follows a "dangerous time for artists" amid an atmosphere of conspiracy and paranoia, with the two iconic playwrights forced together into a creative union."

"Across three secret meetings, the rivals duel and flirt like their lives depend on it – and with spies everywhere, betrayal is so tempting," the synopsis adds.

Doctor Who's Gatwa will portray Marlowe, with Bluemel taking on Shakespeare in the new play by writer Liz Duffy Adams, which will run for a limited season at London's Wyndham's Theatre from August 13.

Bluemel added: "I feel incredibly proud and excited to be working with Ncuti Gatwa and Daniel Evans on the European premiere of Born With Teeth. To be stepping into the shoes of a young William Shakespeare is a huge thrill for any actor and I can’t wait to get started.
