Benidorm star Denise Welch has responded to excited fans following rumours that the popular sitcom is being rebooted by ITV.

The ITV series, which ran for 10 seasons between 2007 and 2018, found a new lease of life after it was added to the streaming service Netflix.

With talks of an 11th season under way, TV presenter Rylan Clark, who is a fan of the comedy, took to social media to share his delight at the show's possible comeback.

Taking to X, Rylan reshared a post in which a Benidorm fan said the reboot would "only be worth watching" if the Garvey family returned.

Reposting the picture of the actors who played the Garvey family, Rylan wrote: "The garveys were supreme 👌👌👌 tenner madge has lost it all again haha x"
