Fans of an epic fantasy series have just one request after the creators of the show shared some big news.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has been renewed for a third season, which has been revealed to take place several years after the explosive events of season two.
Sharing the news on Instagram, the Prime Video show's official page teased what fans can expect from the upcoming episodes.

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - Season 3: Jumping forward several years from the events of Season 2, Season 3 takes place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war and conquer all Middle-earth at last," the announcement post reads.
Fans were quick to comment on the post with their excitement, with many begging for more episodes per season - and quickly.

"Kindly make it 10 episodes or MORE, please! I can’t bear watching just 6–8 episodes per season and then waiting so long for the next one," one wrote.
Referring to the plot explanation, another said: "By several years I hope you don't mean that season is coming several years later. I am hoping to watch it in mid 2026 no more than that."
A third commented: "But when?? We shouldn't be waiting over a year for tv shows."

The show first debuted in 2022 and is set thousands of years before The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings during the Second Age.
The Rings of Power focuses on the forging of the rings, the rise of the Lord Sauron, and the fall of the island kingdom of Númenor.
Several characters from the film series appear in the show, including Elrond (Robert Aramayo), and Galadriel (Morfydd Clark).
