The BBC has dropped the official trailer for The Split: Barcelona.
The beloved legal drama starring Nicola Walker and Stephen Mangan returns with a two-part special this Christmas, which sees the Defoe sisters swapping the streets of London for sunny Barcelona to attend a family wedding.
Nuptials aside, it looks like love may be on the cards for Hannah Defoe (Walker) too, with the trailer seeing sparks fly between her and Archie Moore (Toby Stephens), following her divorce from ex-husband Nathan Stern (Mangan).

"You've been dating?" Nathan asks Hannah at the airport, who responds: "Oh a couple of dates, few months ago."
Viewers are then introduced to Archie (Stephens), described as a "mysterious lawyer" who just happens to be at the same wedding in Barcelona as the family.

Having had her heart broken on a few occasions now, Hannah admits that she's scared at the idea of being alone but also being with someone romantically.
"But isn't anything worth doing terrifying?" Archie poses to Hannah during a late night chat on a beach.

Also back for the new episodes are the Defoe sisters, Nina (Annabel Scholey) and Rose (Fiona Button), plus matriarch Ruth (Deborah Findlay) - who prove to be having similar love dilemmas of their own.
The specials were confirmed in May this year, with show creator and writer Abi Morgan promising "problematic prenups, scandalous wedding crashers, and low-flying marriage proposals" in what is a "chaotic and riotous weekend that guarantees to crack open the heart, before the last of the guests have gone home".
Supporting cast members also back for the international outing include Derry Girls' Ian McElhinney as Ronnie, plus Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (Glen), Elizabeth Roberts (Liv) and Alex Guersman (Gael).
The Split: Barcelona will air on December 29 and 30 at 9pm on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer. Series 1-3 are available to stream on iPlayer now.
