Solo Leveling season two has already been given a teaser trailer, with the footage being unveiled as part of the Anime Expo 2024 (via Crunchyroll). We've also had confirmation that the anime streaming service plans to release Solo Leveling's second run when it airs in Japan.

The series is set in a world where the world's weakest monster hunter is suddenly given the chance to surpass everyone and potentially become the greatest hunter of all.

It's rather fitting then that this anime is set to become one of the most successful adaptations the genre has seen in a long time, despite originating from South Korea rather than Japan, where anime is typically produced.

The story of Sun Jinwoo originally spanned 179 chapters in the original webcomic, which in turn was based on a serialised novel, before ending in 2021. And 12 episodes in, the first season of the A-1 Pictures adaptation has barely scratched the surface of this, which means there's plenty of opportunity for the show to level up more in future seasons.

Now that season two has been confirmed, grab your weapon of choice and stock up on some XP as we here at Digital Spy reveal everything you need to know about Solo Leveling part two.

Solo Leveling will officially return for a second season titled 'Arise from the Shadow' in a nod to Jinwoo's new path as a necromancer.

What to Read Next

The news was confirmed with an exciting new teaser trailer, putting to bed what could have been months of speculation on when a season two announcement might come down from on Crunchyroll high.

The short clip posted to the anime's official X/Twitter account shows Jinwoo still has inroads to make in his quest to level up, as he's heard bellowing: "We're called hunters for a reason... and the real hunt begins now!"

A release date hasn't been confirmed yet though – although fans seem to be hoping it will arrive in late 2024.

Who's in Solo Leveling season 2?

It's safe to assume that Shunsuke Nakashige and Noboru Kimura will continue as principal director and head writer respectively for future seasons, and they will most likely be joined again by the following voice actors:

  • Sung Jinwoo/Shun Mizushino - Taito Ban
  • Cha Hae-In/Shizuku Kosaka - Reina Ueda
  • Baek Yoonho/Taiga Shirakawa - Hiroki Touchi
  • Yoo Jinho/Kenta Morohishi - Genta Nakamura
  • Chōi Jong-In/Shin Mogami - Daisuke Hirakawa
  • Go Gunhee/Kiyoomi Gotō - Banjou Ginga
  • Woo Jinchui/Akira Inukai - Makoto Furukawa

New characters will be added later down the line, and we'll add them here as and when those announcements are made.

What will happen in Solo Leveling season 2?

    Solo Leveling spoilers follow.

Assuming that Solo Leveling continues to follow the original story, both the Jeju Island Arc and the Return to Demon Castle Arc will almost certainly play a big role moving forward. Without spoiling too much, Jinwoo's strength will continue to increase in future episodes following that big job change at the end of season one, but potentially at the cost of losing who he was before this all started.

Combine all this with hints regarding the true nature of his power and there is so much scope for a second and even third season of Solo Leveling to tell Jinwoo's story in full. In fact, four seasons might be needed to cover all 22 story arcs and end the show satisfactorily.

Beyond that, there's also a recent webcomic sequel titled Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, which means this franchise could continue levelling up for many, many years to come if the powers that be decide so.

When can I see a Solo Leveling season 2 trailer?

The teaser then shows a series of action shots of Jinwoo facing off in battle, all set to the original soundtrack song '4eVR' by Hiroyuki SAWANO.
