Fire Force has released a new trailer to satiate fans' appetite for the highly anticipated season three (more below).

The anime show's second season wrapped in December 2020 and since Atsushi Ohkubo's original manga ended in 2022, fans are even more excited to see the final adventures of Company 8 brought to life – particularly now we have a release date.

So, here's what we know about Fire Force season three.

The first instalment of season three will arrive in April 2025, with the latter portion coming in January 2026. So sit tight because it will be some wait before we get to see how it all wraps up, since this will be the anime's final season.

It was also announced that the series will stream on Crunchyroll when it returns, which will certainly be good news for fans of the show outside Japan.

Fire Force season 3 plot: What will happen in Fire Force season 3?

The Fire Force anime has faithfully followed Atsushi Ohkubo's manga so far, which means we can predict what's on the way in season three.

Firstly, we expect it to conclude the events of the Stigma arc, which were left unresolved at the end of season two, and show us the next major confrontation between Shinra, the other Fire Force members and the White-Clad's leaders.

Without spoiling too much, the following arc is 'Obi's Rescue'. This leg of the story sees the heroes of Company 8 battling against their own organisations to retrieve Captain Obi from jail.

Those looking for a bit more of a steer should look towards the trailer which also shares a little of what to expect from the upcoming season.

While it mainly serves a recap for the previous seasons, the trailer all but confirms that the world of Soul Eater and Adolla share the same moon. Judging by the trailer, it seems fans will also finally uncover the truth about The Evangelist's mysterious origin and how the White-Clad organisation began.

Fire Force seasons one and two covered the manga's first 174 chapters, collected in 20 tankōbon volumes, which accounts for just under two-thirds of the original manga. The book concluded in February 2022 with chapter 304, which means season three might be our last batch of episodes.

So, even though the show is basically caught up with the manga, you should still crack the spine of one of the books while you wait for the new season. Okubo is a creator worth supporting, especially when you ask him about his inspirations (via AnimeGeek).

"The real heroes closest to us are the firefighters all around us. They're the closest thing we have to a hero so I really wanted to create a manga that gives them the spotlight," he said.

"I think even if you're in the fantasy world you're still going to have fires, right, so who puts those out? That's why we need firefighters in this fantasy world and they have to fight fires with fantasy powers."

Okubo has also highlighted the influence of film on his work, specifically mentioning directors Tim Burton and David Lynch.

"My favorite manga was Dr Slump — I read it over and over. My storytelling and character designs were influenced not by manga, but by movies. I really like David Lynch movies and horror movies in general," he shared during an interview with MyAnimeList.

"When I was working on Soul Eater, Tim Burton's movies were a big influence, but when it comes to Fire Force... it's difficult to say. There wasn't anything in particular, maybe steampunk movies in general, like The City of Lost Children."

Fire Force season 3 trailer: Any Fire Force season 3 footage yet?

The Fire Force season-three trailer is finally here and as discussed above it hints at a few reveals in the upcoming season.

It follows the original trailer (which you can watch at the top of this page) that was shared during Crunchyroll's big industry panel at the Anime Expo 2024.

The third season finds Tokyo alight, as a mysterious affliction of spontaneously combusting rips through the city's population.

Enter the Fire Force, with Shinra now part of Company 8 and prepared to save the city from oblivion — if he can keep his own secrets at bay.

While the trailer is fairly light on plot details, it does also feature a crescent moon with a devilishly smiling face on it, which some manga fans have hypothesised could have wider implications for the timeline of the show and how it relates to Atsushi Ohkubo’s previous work Soul Eater.

Fire Force seasons 1 and 2 are available to watch on Crunchyroll.
