Minions: The Rise of Gru star Steve Carell has read a CBeebies Bedtime Story, with the story airing today (July 1) to coincide with the film's release.
Carell read The Eyebrows of Doom, written by Steve Smallman and illustrated by Miguel Ordóñez. The story follows Dave the bear and his friends as they try to stop the eyebrows of doom leaping from one unsuspecting animal to the next.
Speaking about the project, he said: "I loved reading to my kids when they were younger, so it was a great pleasure to read a Bedtime Story for CBeebies – about a pair of mischievous eyebrows causing havoc, which is something we can all relate to."

The actor is the latest in a long line of stars to be given the honour of reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story, joining Harry Styles, Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy, David Swimmer, Dolly Parton, Dave Grohl, Orlando Bloom and Rose Ayling-Ellis.
In cinemas now, Carell reprises his role as Gru in the Despicable Me movie franchise for the fifth time.
This time focusing on the character's backstory, Minions: The Rise of Gru will introduce us to 12-year-old Gru before he became the supervillain of the previous Despicable Me films.

Carell previously spoke about voicing a younger Gru, telling Digital Spy: "As soon as we start going through the dialogue, you start to feel it. This was a little different because Gru's voice and his demeanour's a tiny bit different too because he's so young and so earnest and so excited.
"Older Gru is a little more weary and a little more crusty and a little more reserved in that way. It was fun finding the different version of the same character. It's slightly higher-pitched and it's pinched as well as pitched."
Minions: The Rise of Gru is released in cinemas on July 1.
