Two Weeks to Live spoilers follow.
In the Two Weeks to Live finale, a big truth was finally uncovered.
Kim's dad Bill was killed because of her mum and not through any fault of his own.
We find out that Tina's real name is actually Jo and she used to work for the police, described by Brookes as the "rising star of the force".
The pair were partners, but things became complicated when Tina/Jo found out that Brookes was on the payroll of crime boss Jimmy.
He decided to "cut her in", and rather than report Brookes to the authorities, she took the money.

Tina/Jo claimed that she did it to protect him.
"He was my partner," she said. "He would have gone to prison for years."
But Brookes wasn't buying it.
"You did it for the money, just like the rest of us," he snapped back.
Eventually, Tina/Jo wanted out and tried to leave, but she wasn't quick enough. Jimmy got there first and murdered Bill, right in front of Kim's eyes.
Kim was shocked by the revelation, but realised there were more pressing matters to deal with, such as the gun that one of Brookes and Thompson's goons was pointing directly in her face.
She managed to kill him, after which a shootout ensued. All of the henchmen were seemingly gunned down, and both Tina/Jo and Brookes also got shot, the latter of whom looked like he was dead.
He had tried to run off with Jimmy's money, but Thompson popped a cap in his back.
She then took the opportunity to make off with the dosh, but was blown up by a landmine.
It later transpired that Brookes was still alive and he walked away with the holdall full of cash.
But before he went on his merry way, he said to Tina/Jo: "So you didn't tell her everything. Another day, perhaps."
Season two hasn't been confirmed yet, but clearly there is more to this story.
What is the "everything" that Brookes is referring to? Did Tina/Jo play a more central role in Jimmy's dealings? What exactly did she get up to in her past life? And what other lies did she tell Kim?
Plus, we never met Jimmy's daughter Terry/i, who obviously wasn't best pleased that her dad was killed and his money stolen.
She is a force to be reckoned with, according to Brookes and Thompson, so if season two does get the greenlight, we'd expect the mystery woman to make life difficult for anyone who crossed her family, which means Kim and Brookes are in big trouble.
Speaking of Kim, she had a big breakthrough with her mum when Tina/Jo decided to give her daughter her blessing and support Kim's decision to head out into the big wide world on her own.
She only ticked off a handful of the "to-dos" from her leather-bound book, so she's got plenty to be getting on with. But given that she's now on Jimmy's daughter's hit list, her odyssey is going to be anything but plain sailing.
Despite letting her daughter go, the rift in their relationship is far from fixed.
"I do love you mum," wrote Kim in her letter. "I just don't know right now if I can forgive you."
Will Tina/Jo ever earn back her daughter's trust?
Kim also said goodbye to Nicky and Jay, which meant her romance with the latter was put on hold, for now at least.
If season two gets the thumbs up, we'd expect the trio to be back together again.
But will Kim and Nicky pick up where they left off, or will the dynamic between them shift?
It's all still to play for.
