If you're shopping for a new EE SIM to use with your smartphone, it's worth taking some time to review the latest deals, before you commit.

Even outside of promotional periods like Black Friday and the January Sales, EE usually has active deals on SIM-only contracts. These offers will often save you money for a limited period, although some deliver savings throughout your contract duration.

One very good, straightforward deal that's live today (February 6, 2024), is a reduction on the cost of a 24-month 25GB Essentials Plan. This package usually costs £23/month, but is currently discounted to £16/month – so you'll save £168 in total.

Comparing SIM-only deals is difficult (and some would say providers like EE could make it easier for customers). So, we've put together this short guide to help you pick out the best offers currently available on EE SIMs.

Multi-Line Discounts when you add a SIM to your account

For existing EE customers, the provider's best current deal is a 30% discount on additional SIMs.

These deals could be ideal for customers who will pay for a family member's SIM, or those who need multiple SIMs for themselves (they might have one personal phone and one business phone, or maybe they're a spy).

Introductory discounts on EE SIM-only plans

If you're a new EE customer, you can save some money short-term by choosing one of several introductory offers on a SIM-only plan.

The following discounts are currently available:

  • 24-month Unlimited Essentials Plan: Free, rising to £33/mo after 3 months
  • 24-month 125GB Essentials Plan: £13/mo, rising to £26/mo after 3 months
  • 24-month 150GB All-Rounder Plan: £16/mo, rising to £32/mo after 3 months

Since you'll be paying full price from the fourth month, these deals are most relevant to customers who are sure they want lots of mobile data. If this sounds like you, then you can save some money in those first three months.

Remember: EE SIM-only prices increase on March 31

When buying any SIM-only contract, remember that the price you agree to is subject to change, and will increase each year.

In 2024, EE's contract pricing will increase by the Consumer Price Index rate of inflation +3.9% on March 31. This adds up to a total increase of 7.9%.

So, if you were to sign up to a £33/mo contract before March 31, the cost would rise to about £35.61/mo from April onwards.

Other mobile providers, such as Three and Vodafone, are also set to increase their contract prices by 7.9% on the same date. These above-inflation increases are common practice, but they're controversial.

Following pressure from consumer advocates including Martin Lewis, the BT Group (which owns EE) has said that from March 2025, mid-contract price increases will be stated in pounds and pence at the point of purchase.

Either way, EE and other mobile providers will continue to increase their pricing throughout your contract. This makes it all the more important to find a good deal at the outset.
