Neighbours star Olympia Valance has revealed that she refused to do one of Paige Smith's storylines earlier this year.
Paige was due to sleep with another male character, having just fallen pregnant following a one-night stand with her priest lover Jack Callahan.
Concerned, Olympia expressed her concerns to the writers about Paige's actions sending out the wrong message to younger fans, and the plot was subsequently scrapped.
Speaking to the Huff Post recently, Olympia said: "Paige had just had unprotected sex with the priest and got pregnant, then my next couple of scenes were supposed to be her having sex with someone else.
"I said that I wasn't doing that, especially as I have a lot of young fans. She'd already been pretty irresponsible.
"It's a huge thing to happen to a young girl, so to go and sleep with someone else when you've just found out you're pregnant is a bit of a no-no."

Mavournee Hazel – who plays Paige's younger sister Piper – added during their joint interview that she has also been nervous about an upcoming storyline for her character.
"Piper is 17, so there's no risqué storylines, and in a long-term relationship," Mavournee said. "There's something coming up that I had issues with, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it."
