Neighbours bad boy Paul Robinson vows to keep his distance from his ex-wife Terese Willis next week.

The businessman makes a selfless decision following a candid chat with Jane Harris, who's worried about the possibility of Paul and Terese reuniting.

Terese is currently in a vulnerable position after her husband Toadie Rebecchi ended their marriage and left town with his children Nell and Hugo.

In this week's episodes, Paul appears to be the only person who can see how much Terese is struggling with the situation.

Paul tries his best to help, although he and Terese both seem wary to cross any lines beyond friendship.

In follow-on scenes next week, Terese continues to feel conflicted over the friendship but she eventually asks Paul out for lunch. She explains that she wants to thank him for looking after her so well recently.

Later, Jane warns Paul that being close to him again could have an adverse effect on Terese in the long run.

Paul tries to keep his feelings in check when he sees Terese, but he's reminded of their old chemistry when she gently touches his arm.

This proves to be a step too far for Paul, who confides in his son Leo Tanaka that he's too close to crossing the line with Terese.
