In the face of Roxy's blackmail, Paul caves in to her and tells Terese he has changed his mind - Roxy should stay. Terese is happy, but knows she must get to the bottom of where Roxy got her money to buy into the Back Lane Bar. Roxy tells a carefully edited story about getting inside tips on horse races and winning the money that way.
Terese remains pleased with Paul for deciding to support Roxy, until Chloe outs her own secret - Paul was paying her to stay away from Kyle, in the continued hope that he might break up Amy and Gary. This is exactly the kind of underhanded meddling that Paul promised Terese he'd given up. He's on thin ice with her.
The fallout continues, as Amy feels disappointed in her father yet again. Roxy wonders why Terese would be with a dodgy guy like Paul – and is surprised to learn of her affinity for bad boys. They're both unaware of the shocking truth that lies unknown between them - the boyfriend Roxy is currently hiding is the same bad boy, Vance, who Terese once loved. And as Roxy learns her beloved Vance will soon be on his way to Erinsborough, Terese and her wild niece are set to collide.
Meanwhile, some advice from Amy spurs Kyle to put an end to the frustrating secrecy he and Chloe are bound to, as he comes clean to his housemates about their relationship. But worried housemates aren't Chloe's only consideration, and she realises she needs to be honest with Kyle. She tells him that she accepted money from Paul to stay away from him. Paul's intention was to keep Kyle untethered so that he and Amy could reunite.
Furious at Paul's manipulative tactics, Kyle publicly tears strips off Paul, leaving Paul disgraced in front of the two people he cares for most: Amy and Terese. Realising that Chloe's feelings for him are genuine, Kyle accepts her apology and the pair agree to continue seeing each other.
Amy is glad the truth is out now… but is rattled when, in a tender moment with Gary, she finds herself having a sizzling daydream about Kyle.
