Elly tries to stand her ground with Dean, unwilling to fold to his demand that she give him good marks in exchange for his silence. But when Dean makes a show of chatting to Mark at Harold's, Elly sees how easily this nasty kid could blow up her whole life. Elly tries to keep Dean sweet, but when his mischievous behaviour impacts Yashvi and Susan catches wind of it, Elly is forced to step in and discipline Dean again, which riles him up more.

Now upping the ante, underage Dean instructs Elly to buy him alcohol for his school camp. Hamstrung, Elly hates herself for obliging Dean's illegal request, but is desperate to keep her secret hidden. But as Elly brings the alcohol to school for Dean, she is caught red handed by a shocked Dipi. How is Elly going to get herself out of this one?

Meanwhile, eccentric Jemima is sending Karl the biggest, most unusual present he has ever received: a vintage Melbourne tram. Ecstatic, Karl is willing to go to great lengths to fit the tram into the Kennedy backyard, but a horrified Susan won't have a bar of it. Though she appreciates the gesture, Susan declares it impractical and Karl realises he needs to turn down the offer.

The stars are aligning for Karl, as Kyle sees the tram as a vital piece in the revitalisation of Power Road and believes it could be turned into a new local landmark. A giddy Karl brings Susan down to the site, gleeful as a crane delivers the tram to its new home opposite Amy's yard.

Elsewhere, Kyle and Chloe are struggling to keep a lid on their affections and Paul catches them kissing. Chloe makes a show of rejecting Kyle for Paul's sake, and Kyle accepts it as an attempt to keep their romance hidden from their housemates.

However, Chloe uses Paul's misunderstanding of their relationship for personal gain – she argues how hard it is to stay away from such a hottie, cleverly leveraging more money out of Paul.
