After learning about the 'anonymous' donation, Toadie is feeling great about the future of the Sonya Foundation. But soon the community is all abuzz when Karl receives a vintage Melbourne tram as a gift from Jemima. The excitement about the tram means a lacklustre turnout at Toadie's charity kick-starter event, and he's left deflated. In an attempt to reach out, Karl convinces Toadie to hold an impromptu charity event at the tram instead, and the event is an overwhelming success.
Finn realises how much his presence is impacting Susan when he learns she had to forego attending Toadie's first event because he's still keeping her and Karl at a distance. Finn is keen to make up for the turmoil he's causing by doing more secret good. But when Karl and Toadie return to the Foundation's offices, they come across him attempting to sneak in.
Despite Finn's protests that he's trying to help, Toadie loses it at Finn for trying to tarnish the project that holds his wife's name. Having been spurned not only by Toadie, but also by Bea earlier in the day, a distraught Finn makes a decision.
Meanwhile, scrambling for an excuse for the alcohol, Elly spins a story about the booze being hers and that her pregnancy has become so stressful she has been tempted to drink. Dipi agrees to stay quiet, as long as Elly tells Mark what she has been doing. Though hating every second of the hole she has dug for herself, Elly reveals her 'truth' to Mark, who responds with overwhelming support and suggests she attends a support group for expectant mothers at the Community Centre.
When Elly decides to work after hours at the deserted school, the lights suddenly go out. A concerned Elly immediately thinks it's Dean attempting some form of revenge. In the darkness, someone lunges at Elly and she's shoved to the ground as a figure rushes to escape. As Elly cradles her stomach in pain, is the baby she has fought so hard for now in danger? And who's the mysterious person to blame?
