Ned fears Finn is already coming between him and Bea. Bea wholeheartedly assures Ned that won't happen. Devoted to Ned, Bea realises she needs to make it clear to Finn that the only thing between them is friendship. But Finn has blossoming feelings for Bea and can't help feeling privately disappointed when she emphasises nothing will ever happen between them.
Settling in is feeling impossible to Finn, but he's determined to win over his new neighbours. Finn has an idea to offer some of Karl's delicious homegrown produce to them, hopeful the kind gesture might help thaw the ice in the neighbourhood. But disaster strikes when Susan finds a razorblade in one of the apricots. Panicked Susan realises everyone on the street who's received the fruit is in serious danger… but is Finn to blame?
Meanwhile, after following Finn's recovery from his coma, David finds new inspiration for his career. David decides he'd like to specialize in neuro-psychiatry and wants to investigate the link between trauma, brain injury and psychopathy… using Finn as a case study. Hopeful that the case study might prove to his doubters that he's no longer a danger, Finn agrees to David's proposal. Upon learning of David's decision, Aaron is stunned.
Elsewhere, irrational from his grief and stress, Toadie orders Dipi and Shane to look for their own place. Dipi and Shane scan the rental market, hoping to quickly get out of Toadie's hair. But managing Nell and baby Hugo alone proves challenging for Toadie, especially when he learns that the community centre is facing cutbacks and the child care program is no longer a reliable option. Susan helps him realise he doesn't want to lose the support of his brother and Dipi. Toadie apologises for blowing up at them, admitting he would love for them to stay in the house.
