Home and Away star Kyle Pryor has spoken out on his exit, insisting that it was the right time for him to leave Nate Cooper behind.

Kyle's character Nate bowed out of the soap in Australian scenes last week, after taking up a new job away from Summer Bay, following the breakdown of his on-off relationship with Tori Morgan.

Kyle thanked his fans on Instagram after his final scenes aired, but he has now been more open about his reasons for leaving the soap after four years.

"I was a bumbling mess," Kyle told TV Week when describing his last day on set. "But it was the right time to go.
