Cash brushes off Abigail when she asks for an update on the Nerida case. When Abigail isn't satisfied by Cash's reassurances, she heads to the police station and warns Rose that Nerida was at the hospital.
Under pressure from Rose, Townsend reluctantly agrees to question Nerida. However, Nerida is quizzed as a witness rather than a suspect. Nerida's alibi holds strong, so Townsend remains adamant that he's doing the right thing by pursuing the case against Cash.
Meanwhile, Gary returns to the Bay after being invited by John and he demands to know why Cash isn't fighting harder to clear his name. Gary fears that Cash has given up, but sees that there's more to the situation than meets the eye as Cash has actually been running his own unofficial investigation.

Abigail tells Gary what's really going on and he realises that Cash has tried to cover up the truth. Gary forms an alliance with Rose, agreeing to clear Cash's name whether he likes it or not.
Elsewhere, Mackenzie is desperate for Mali and Abigail to tell Levi the truth about their relationship, but they seem reluctant. Later though, Levi sees Mali and Abigail kissing and he's shocked by his discovery.
