Nikau is hopeful of becoming Tane's best man for the wedding and is relieved when his uncle confirms this will be the case. Nikau immediately launches into action and is overzealous about his best man duties. A laid-back Tane puts the brakes on, telling Nikau that all he needs to do is organise a bucks' night and a speech.
Realising the organisational disarray that he has walked into, Nikau decides to take control of the wedding planning. A vulnerable Nikau admits that if Ari were alive, he would be best man. Wanting to make his family proud, Nikau is determined to live up to Ari's standards.
Meanwhile, Theo and Kirby celebrate after a successful radio interview, but they're interrupted by an uninvited guest – Bob has returned. Clearly in Summer Bay to stir up trouble, Bob unashamedly flatters Kirby in front of Theo. Theo refuses to take the bait and gives Kirby space to resolve her issues with Bob in private.

An arrogant Bob refuses to believe that Kirby has moved on with Theo. Persistent, Bob convinces Kirby to have a drink with him so they can get closure. Alone at the garage, Theo listens to Lyrik's radio premiere, deflated. He thinks Kirby should be listening with him, but instead she's preoccupied with Bob.
When Kirby threatens to walk out on Bob's egotistical ranting, Bob resorts to begging. Bob declares that he regrets leaving Kirby and he wants her back.
Elsewhere, stubborn Marilyn refuses to hear of Roo's tutoring resignation. Overhearing, Alf backs Marilyn up – he thinks Roo shouldn't forgo her business because of Heather. Despite this, Roo still doesn't trust her own judgement after being so badly deceived. Using Roo's own wise words against her, Marilyn insists that Roo should give herself a second chance.
Also today, when Mackenzie gets the bad news that the sick patron in hospital has died, she commits to training all her staff in first aid. A consoling Felicity understands what this means for Mackenzie, as it's a chance to reconcile her past failings.
Overhearing, Nikau gives Mackenzie some kind advice about dealing with disaster. Mackenzie appreciates Nikau's generosity, but she's still getting first aid training.
