Kirby delivers a devastating blow – all their gigs have been cancelled as Remi lost all their savings. Now they have no means to get to gigs. Theo lays out the band's transport dilemma to a sympathetic Justin, who gets an idea.

Meanwhile, rushing to the hospital, Felicity is elated to see Cash awakened from his coma. Despite her enthusiasm, Cash can only think about one thing: Jasmine. Cash is devastated to learn that Jasmine didn't come back.

Keeping the mood upbeat is an uphill battle for Felicity. Cash struggles to remember the details of what happened in the raid, begging Felicity to tell him. Wary of Cash's vulnerable state, Felicity reluctantly explains that Cash killed one of the bikies, Marty.

A sombre Cash takes that in, spiralling under the weight of culpability in a man's death. Desperate for answers, Cash begins to panic, wanting to speak with Rose. Dr Cameron sends Felicity away, saying Cash needs to rest.

The next day, alone with Dr Cameron, Cash admits the truth of his anguish – a man is dead because of him. How can he live with that?

Elsewhere, Nikau is despondent about losing his lifeguarding job. A supportive Tane is certain they can find a way to turn it around. Tane seeks out John for insight, but John says it's useless. Unless they can prove their innocence, the surf club committee's decision is final.

To save his nephew, Tane takes the fall, telling John that Tane was mixed up with bikies, not Nikau. Nikau just came looking for his uncle. A stern John warns Tane that this could spell the end of his gym lease at the surf club, but Tane accepts that risk.

John is proud to deliver the good news to Nikau – the committee has reversed their decision after Tane's intervention. Nikau gets to keep his lifeguarding job. A grateful Nikau pulls his uncle into an embrace, aware of the sacrifice Tane is making for his nephew.
